Parenting We've all heard this before: "Babies should come with a manual." or "We should have to get a licence to become a parent." The Baha'i Wriings advise that mothers should be provided "...with a well-planned programme for the education of children, showing how, from infancy, the child must be watched over and taught." -`Abdu'l-Baha Unfortunately, no such manual yet exists (at least that I'm aware of). Parenting is a fine balance between love and discipline, teaching and allowing room for self-discovery, providing an enriching environment without being overstimulating, protecting and nurturing independence, and the list goes on. We will all make mistakes. It's impossible to be a perfect parent. All we can do is try our best. Part of trying our best is educating ourselves and also following our instincts and most important - getting help when we need it. Here are links to resources and advice I have on the topic of parenting based on my experience raising my own children. Pregnancy and Childbirth Books about Parenting Advice
