and children get mixed up on Blueberry Hill and then find each other again. A classic. I remember this story from my childhood. It somehow left an impression. My kids love it. My daughter insists that it be read about four times every night for months. Read it with a pint of blueberries.

The story of a young girl losing a tooth while
digging for clams.

Corduroy

A teddy bear searches for his lost button
in the department store where he lives. He is bought by a young girl, makes a best friend, and brought home. A classic. I remember this story from my childhood. A cute, loveable bear. A story about love. Kids love it.

Tikki Tikki Tembo
By Arlene Mosel

The story of why Chinese people give their children short names. Two brothers, the eldest with a long and honourable name and the youngest with a short name which means nothing, fall into a well. Interesting illustrations. A bit of melody to the words occasionally. A classic. I remember this book from when I was a child. My kids enjoy this book.
