Photos of Haifa Berteig

Three Years Old

2003-2004

Haifa wrote her name all by herself for the first time
on her 3rd birthday, December 30, 2003.

Grandpa Robbie, and Uncle Cal. A very soft
black horse which quickly became a favorite.

Haifa had an amazing 3rd birthday party.
Many people came. Kristine, Celine, Kayli, Rylan,
Cindy, Ashley, Nikki, Farzaneh, Peter, Nahal,
Bahar, Ben, Declan, Estelle, Christian, Jeanne,
Grampa Benny, and Linda.

Haifa got a special helium balloon for her birthday.

The "Nemo" cake. Haifa chose her cake from Baskin Robbins.
It had mint chocolate chip ice cream inside.

Blow out the candles!
We had made gingerbread houses a week earlier
and ate it at her party too.

We had many people at the party and it turned out to be
an absolutely fabulous (rocking!) party.

Haifa became very interested in pioneer life when we started
to watch "Little House on the Prairie" on DVD. She wants
to be called Laura. We went to a real pioneer village in
Toronto and found this marvelous outfit for her. She wears it every day. I have to wash it everyday. I sewed another
dark blue pinafore for it that doesn't show stains as easily. Black Creek Pioneer Village, September 24, 2004.

Haifa is a very beautiful girl. She also has a great,
deep singing voice. She says things sometimes that
just melt my heart. She can make me instantly happy
with her sweetness. Here she is wrapped in her
butterfly towel. December 10, 2004.

This is how I like to see Haifa. Laughing and smiling.

Look at those big eyes. I sometimes think God took my thoughts on what the most beautiful girl I can possibly
imagine would look like and created Haifa.
