A Montessori Day Care

For Ages 2 to 5 years old
Cost: $500/week
Teacher-Student Ratio: 1:4
Call Melanie Andersen: ----------

Heart, Hand and Mind is an enriched Day Care program for small children. The child's spiritual, physical and intellectual capacities will be developed and refined through the use of specially designed toys and materials.

Spiritual Program: Prayers and Holy Writings are memorized and recited using songs and pictures. Good character and moral conduct are nurtured through a virtues program using the Holy Writings, stories, and practical application. Stories from the life of members of the Holy family are read every day. Good manners and social conduct are also taught.

Physical Program: The child's motor skills are developed through learning how to care for themselves and their environment (dressing, cleaning tables, putting things away properly, pouring their own drinks, setting table, preparing their own snacks, sweeping, watering plants). Outdoor play, walks through conservation areas, sports, walking on a line, and using musical instruments. Healthy snacks and lunch are provided.

Intellectual Program: Specially designed toys will help the child develop math, reading, writing, vocabulary, science, and global citizenship (geography and culture) skills. Within a year of participating in this program, a child should be able to read, write, count, and classify living and non-living things based on a variety of properties.
